Talking about Diversity and Inclusion is not enough, what are the actions that are going to be taken to make a change in the work space?
How do we understand these issues and deal with them?

Peter Cheese highlighted some important points like :

– Allyship; to be an ally the issues have to be understood, what is racism? the different forms of racism e.g Institutional forms, Structural forms, interpersonal forms and Internal forms

– The difference between equality and equity; so many organisations talk about a level playing field but the deeper understanding is that there are not even some people on the field so how do we bring them into the field? how do we help them to level up.

– Understanding behaviours in the work place, why are people wired the way they are? why do they react the way they do?

– Business must be a force for good; if people are being treated badly outside we must work harder to treat them better within our own organisations.

– He talked about why it’s important as a buisness leader to be diverse and inclusive.

– He rounded up by mentioning some of the things he learnt about Inclusion and Diversity in the last 2 to 3 years.
